Quick answer

Identify the exact model before paying for a sample

Before ordering a solar street light sample, identify the product type, exact catalogue model or page, catalogue-rated wattage label, intended application, destination country and expected bulk-order quantity. For a road project, also provide road width, pole height, pole spacing, required operating schedule and relevant site conditions when available. Confirm the sample cost, freight, included components, model-specific warranty and any agreed sample-fee credit in writing. Do not select a sample from the wattage label alone.

Before the request

Information a supplier needs

A model photo or nominal wattage is not enough.

Decision fieldWhat to provideWhy it matters
Product and modelSplit or all-in-one; catalogue page, screenshot, link or model codePrevents the wrong configuration being discussed
Wattage referenceThe catalogue-rated label shown beside the modelIdentifies the catalogue grade, not verified system performance
Commercial planMarket, application, sample and expected bulk quantity, target price or quality directionConnects the sample with a realistic purchase path
Project inputsRoad width, pole height, spacing, operating schedule and site conditionsSupports project review without a coverage promise
CustomizationOEM logo, color box, outer carton or manual needsSeparates sample and bulk-order requirements

Steps 1–2

Shortlist models and read labels carefully

Send one to three page numbers, screenshots, product URLs or exact model codes. Compare split and all-in-one structures. Use wording such as “catalogue-rated 60W” rather than treating the label as verified actual power. A catalogue label alone does not confirm actual system consumption, lumen output, nightly operating time, autonomy, road grade or coverage. See how to read a specification sheet.

Steps 3–4

Explain the buying purpose and application

A distributor may be checking appearance, packaging direction and fit with a local price tier. An EPC or project supplier may be deciding whether a configuration can proceed to project review. State the buyer role, destination, application, expected bulk quantity and target price or quality direction. For road use, add the inputs in the road-project information checklist.

Steps 5–7

Confirm, evaluate and convert

Keep sample and bulk decisions separate.

Confirm terms in writingConfirm the exact model, sample quantity, cost, freight responsibility, included components, timing, warranty and any sample-fee credit condition.
Use agreed evaluation criteriaRecord model identity, included components, visible condition, supplied instructions and results of the buyer’s functional or project review. Do not invent performance limits.
Prepare the bulk requestConfirm model, quantity by model, customization, documents, trade term and destination before requesting a formal quotation.

Sample order FAQ

Questions before paying for a sample

Answers match the structured data.

Can I order a solar street light sample before a bulk order?

Yes. Minglong can provide samples. The buyer pays the sample cost and freight. If agreed in advance, the sample fee may be credited against a qualifying later bulk order, subject to order confirmation.

What information should I send to request a sample?

Send the product type, catalogue page or screenshot, exact model or catalogue-rated wattage label, intended application, destination country, sample quantity and expected bulk quantity. For a road project, also send road width, pole height, spacing, operating schedule and relevant site conditions when available.

Can I select a sample only by the wattage shown in the catalogue?

No. The wattage shown in a catalogue should be treated as a catalogue-rated label until the model configuration is confirmed. It does not by itself prove actual system consumption, lumen output, operating time, autonomy, road grade or coverage.

Can a sample include my logo or customized packaging?

Minglong supports OEM logos and customization of color boxes, outer cartons and manuals. Whether customization is available for a specific sample, and any related cost or quantity condition, must be confirmed before the sample order.

What happens after the sample is approved?

Confirm the final model, quantity by model, customization, required documents, trade term and destination. The regular MOQ is 100 pieces, while mixed-order rules or any small-order arrangement must be confirmed in the formal quotation. Regular production lead time is usually 15–30 days, subject to order confirmation and production schedule.
